"There was nowhere for a person to hide. So I wouldn’t be a person. My eyes fell on the shelves that lined the far back corner. A coyote could hide there.”
This is by far my favorite in the series so far. I don't want to take away from the others, but this book brings Mercy to her knees, and she gets up, dusts herself off and proves that she will always be true to herself. Even if it means not giving up when everyone else does or finding strength in those who love her when she's lost her way. Thank you, Ms. Briggs for such an empowering female character that doesn't shy away from the hard stuff, but is still woman enough to get hurt. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
