“If she was suggesting she was too wise with the weight of her experience to fall prey to infatuation - well, the disproof was sitting before her in the form of a gray-eyed prince with a thoughtful set to his mouth that she found quite distracting.”
I really loved this book. It's a prequel to Graceling only in that it all happens before Katsa is ever born and it does talk about King Leck's beginnings. This story takes place outside the seven kingdoms in the neighboring kingdom "The Dells" and while the seven kingdoms have gracelings, The Dells have monsters, beautiful creatures that are colorful adaptations of regular animals and people. The last human monster is Fire and this is her amazing story.
I would love for Cashore to continue with stories containing both Fire and Katsa and it would be wonderful, if somehow these two amazing characters could met and share an adventure.
